Reactivity of Lymphocytes from Normal Persons on Cultured Tumor Cells1
نویسندگان
چکیده
target cells in 995 tests and with lymphocytes from normal controls in 1099 tests. The average reactivity was significantly greater with lymphocytes from normal persons in 3 of the 7 established lines and 2 of 12 short-term cultures. In only 1 short-term bladder tumor culture was there indication of greater cytotoxicity produced by lymphocytes from bladder cancer patients than by cells from normal persons. Cell-medi ated target cell reduction of cultured human tumor cells is not confined to patients with cancer.

متن کاملEffects of human sera on reactivity of lymphocytes in microcytotoxicity assays.
The effects of cancer patient and normal donor serum samples on the reactivity of patient and normal lymphocytes against both normal and malignant target cells were studied in microcytotoxicity assays. There were 17 of 140 cancer patient serum samples and 7 of 116 normal donor lymphocyte samples that selectively increased the growth of target cells in the presence of lymphocytes. This effect wa...
متن کاملEffect of Polyethylene Glycol 6000 on the Generation of Antitumor Cytotoxicity in MOPC-315 Tumor Bearer Spleen Cells Cultured in the Presence or Absence of Inactivated Stimulator Tumor Cells1
Noncytotoxic spleen cells from BALB/c mice bearing 15to 26-mm (but not 29-mm) s.c. MOPC-315 tumors that were cultured in medium containing 2% polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG) developed substantial levels of anti-MOPC-315 cytotoxicity as assayed by 51Cr release. The level of cytotoxicity obtained increased with progression of tumor growth. Addition of mitomycin C-treated stimulator tumor cells and...
متن کاملImmunological basis of close-contact sensitization to osteosarcoma.
Normal persons with a history of close contact with cancer patients often given positive responses in tests for specific tumor immunity. The present study was designed to establish the immunological relevance of such reactivity. Leukocyte adherence inhibition analysis was used to test responses of osteosarcoma (OS)-positive donors to extracts of OS. The test system proved highly specific in tha...
متن کاملPeripheral blood lymphocytes are able to maintain their viability and basic function in normal urine
Background: Similar to inflammatory cells, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) can also infiltrate in to kidney and urinary tracts and subsequently excreted by urine. In this study we determined the viability rate and response to phytohemagglutinin-A (PHA) of human PBMCs in normal urine. Methods: A number of 1×106 ficoll-hypaque isolated PBMCs were dispensed in 1 ml normal urine...
